There's always a lot going on at Lily B. Clayton!

Meet the Teachers - One evening the week before school starts, students and families have an opportunity to meet their teachers and find their classrooms. The PTA also has t-shirts and other items available for purchase and gently used uniforms and Lily B. shirts available at low or no cost. 

Yahoo Boohoo Coffee - After drop-off on the first day of school, parents are invited to gather in the library to shed tears of joy or sadness at the start of another school year. It’s a great opportunity to meet other Lily B. parents.

Flag Ceremony - On the first day of school, the school community gathers for a special ceremony at the flagpole.

Family Math & Fitness Night - Families come together to enjoy fitness and math activities.

Muffins with Mom - Students bring their moms (or another family member or caregiver) early to school for a special treat to share with their friends.

Family Science Night - Held at the Fort Worth Museum of Science and History, during this event, families come together for an exciting night of exhibits, planetarium shows, and hands-on science demonstrations.

Walkathon - Our big fall fundraiser!  Our PTA fall fundraiser. Students have a couple of weeks to raise money for our sweet school. Then, on Walkathon day, all Lily B. students, faculty, and families are invited to walk through the neighborhood to celebrate a job well done.

Family Spirit Night - Families enjoy a free party with fun activities and food the evening of Walkathon.  We celebrate our Walkathon success.   

Storybook Parade - Students come to school dressed as their favorite storybook character at the end of October. The students may bring their book to school and will parade around campus. Families are invited to attend.

Donuts with Dad - Students bring their dads (or another family member or caregiver) early to enjoy donuts and coffee.

Reflections Art Contest - An art contest facilitated by the Texas PTA. Students can submit artwork in categories such as dance choreography, film production, literature, music composition, photography, and visual arts.

Veterans Day Ceremony - On Veterans Day (or another nearby date if November 11 is on a weekend), students honor veteran family members with a special flag ceremony. Families are invited to attend.

Clayton Corner Holiday Store - Led by Ms. Daniels, students have the opportunity to buy inexpensive holiday presents on their own and learn about budgeting and selection. Older grade students also work the store.   

Singing in the Halls - Each morning of the week before Winter Break, students and staff line our halls and celebrate the sounds of the season with this very special Lily B. tradition. Families are invited to attend.

Running Club - An after-school program led by Mr. Dague in which students in 3rd through 5th grades run twice a week in preparation for the Cowtown 5k in February. 

Spelling Bee - Students compete in the Scripps National Spelling Bee.  

Black History Month Contest - Led by Ms. Daniels, students may research and prepare a project on a famous Black person and compete for prizes.

Bumblebee Ball - A free event with music, dancing, and other fun activities.  Girls may bring their dad, caregiver, or any adult who is important to them.

Valentinegrams - Parents, students and teachers have an opportunity to send special messages to each other on Valentine's Day. This is a fundraiser for the 5th grade trip.

Valentine’s Day Parties - Students have a special celebration for Valentine’s Day.

Auction - Our PTA's spring fundraiser at which families of Lily B. students enjoy a fun, adults only evening while benefiting the school and bidding on Lily B. perks and activities as well as auction items.

History Fair - Students create displays of special people and events in history.  Students in kindergarten through 2nd grades may complete a class or group exhibit; students in 3rd through 5th grades may complete an individual or group project.

Science Fair - Kindergarten through 5th grade students can participate in the district science fair.

Spring Bonnet Parade - Students pick a vocabulary word and decorate a hat (old or new) to represent the meaning of their vocabulary word. Students parade around the building in their hats. Participation is optional, and families are invited to attend.

Easter Egg Hunts - Students in pre-k through 2nd grade participate in an egg hunt. 

Bumblebee Ballgames - A free event with music, ballgames, and other fun activities.  Boys may bring their mom, caregiver, or any adult who is important to them.

University Interscholastic League (UIL) - Students in 2nd through 5th grade form teams and train to compete in different academic areas from storytelling to math.

Goodies with Grandparents - Grandparents pick up their students and stay and play after school with a special treat.

Teacher Appreciation Week - A special week near the end of the school year during which we celebrate our wonderful teachers.

Field Day - Led by Mr. Dague, students compete in a variety of outdoor athletic competitions.

5th Grade Trip - All students in 5th Grade take a trip to Austin and San Antonio for adventure and learning. 

Talent Shows - Students have the opportunity to showcase their talents near the end of the school year.

Marvelous Monday - On the last Monday of the school year, students enjoy a cultural arts day celebrating and exploring culture and art.  Community members visit and present on a variety of topics. Depending on Memorial Day, it is sometimes known as "Terrific Tuesday".

Graduation Ceremonies - Pre-K students participate in a graduation ceremony. Students in 2nd through 5th grade are promoted to the next grade.  5th grade students are "clapped out" of school early by the other students. 

Stay and Play - Several times each semester, after parent pickup, students and families are invited to stay and play on the playground. Refreshments are provided by the PTA.

Grade Level Programs - Our music teacher, Ms. Trent, prepares students in kindergarten through fifth grade to perform at programs throughout the school year.

Visiting Authors - Students enjoy visits from visiting authors in the library throughout the year. 

Specials Classes: Art, Music & PE - Students in all grades rotate daily to either Art, Music or PE. 

Library Lessons / Accelerated Reader - Students go weekly to the library for lessons and to check out books.  Students test their reading comprehension with the AR (Accelerated Reader) program for rewards.

Dads' Club Reading Buddies - Younger students are paired with volunteers from Dads' Club to work on reading skills. 

Morning Announcements Crew - 5th Grade students work on speech skills by reading the morning announcements.

5th Grade Safety Patrol - 5th Grade students help to guide younger students and are leaders in the school.  

Clayton Bee - Led by Ms. Daniels, student volunteers in 2nd through 5th Grades meet before school to work on reporting and writing skills by producing a monthly newspaper

Mrs. Cook's Books - Twice each year, every Lily B. student gets to pick one or two new books of their own. This program formerly was called Reading is Fundamental. Since federal funding for the program stopped many years ago, our program has been funded by the PTA, and it was renamed “Mrs. Cook’s Books” to honor Doris Cook, a former Lily B. 2nd grade teacher and avid reader.

Teacher Treats Days - On certain days each year, the PTA provides special treats for the teachers and faculty. 

After School Activities - The PTA organizes a number of different after school activities each semester.

Clayton Youth Enrichment - An onsite before and after school program.
