Talk in complete sentences of five or more words
Look at pictures and tell stories
Identify rhyming words

Recognize common sight words like “the, and, in, it, is”
Recognize environmental print
Sort similar objects by color, size, and shape
Recognize groups of one, two, three, four, and five objects
Count, recognize, and write numbers to ten
