Registering ensures that the district will be able to staff Lily B. appropriately for our student population. Online registration is required for all students—both new and returning—to be enrolled.
Please register as soon as possible here.
If your child has been registered, his or her teacher will mail you a letter before Meet the Teachers night.
If a letter is not received, proof of address may be requested, and class assignments can be obtained at Meet the Teachers night or by calling the office on Friday, August 8.
Meet the Teachers night is Thursday, August 7 from 5:30 to 6:30 pm. Students and families have an opportunity to meet their teachers and find their classrooms.
The PTA will also have pre-ordered t-shirts and school supplies available for pickup, gently used uniforms and Lily B. shirts available for free, and other information that will help you start off the school year.
Here is a list of basic information to help prepare you:
School hours are 7:40 am to 3:10 pm. Note that this is ten minutes earlier than last year.
Doors open at 7:35 am.
The back doors by the cafeteria open at 7:20 am for students eating breakfast.
You may walk your child to class, but please leave promptly so the school day can begin.
Review the dropoff and dismissal policies. In short: use crosswalks, follow the prescribed dropoff and pickup line process, and be courteous to staff and other families.
Afternoon pickup is typically outside by the flagpole, with students lining up by grade starting with 5th grade at the corner and moving toward pre-K further down Berkeley Place. Note the procedures for "indoor dismissal" on the dismissal policy; these procedures apply on rainy days and in certain other circumstances, and the school administrators will provide as much advanced notice as possible.
No pets are allowed on campus during dropoff or dismissal to protect those who are allergic or fearful and due to overall unpredictability.
FWPD will be present to assist with dropoff and pickup during the first two weeks of school.
Backpacks should be appropriately sized for your child to carry independently and large enough to hold folders and lunchboxes. Rolling backpacks are discouraged unless medically necessary.
5th grade Safety Patrol members are leaders at our school and have been asked to assist with efforts to ensure that our investment in new landscaping and irrigation system improvements have a long-lasting impact.
Visitors are permitted when volunteering, joining their student for lunch, attending meetings at school, dropping off their late-arriving students, or getting an early dismissal. All outside school doors are locked daily during school hours. You can be “buzzed” into the building from the main front door entrance. All visitors must check in upon arrival and check out when leaving (in the front office with Mrs. Conner or Ms. Garcia) and must wear a current visitor badge from the office with the day’s date while they are in the school.
Yes. Fort Worth ISD no longer provides free supplies. Lily B. teachers have put together the grade-level school supply lists available here. Please note that these differ slightly from the more generic lists published by FWISD, and the materials listed have specifically been requested by your grade-level Lily B. teacher teams.
To help make back-to-school shopping easier, Lily B. school supply kits are available for purchase through Sprout Supplies. The deadline to purchase these kits is July 8th, and the kits will be available for pickup at Meet the Teachers night. If you are not able to attend Meet the Teachers night to pick up your kit, it will be delivered to your child's classroom. If you choose to purchase your own supplies, your student should bring them to school during the first week of classes.
Note that the PTA also provides each teacher and office staff member with a Teacher Fund budget to cover additional classroom supply needs.
Students can generally wear:
Navy, khaki, blue denim or black pants, shorts, skirts, skorts, capris, or jumpers
Navy, white, red or light blue collared shirts or blouses or turtlenecks
Lily B. t-shirts allowed on Fridays
Plaid jumpers, skirts, and skorts in Red Plaid #94
More detailed information about the uniform policy is available here. If a student is clearly out of uniform dress, an administrator or the counselor will provide the student with a reminder about the uniform policy. If the student is out of uniform dress after a reminder, a parent/guardian will be contacted to bring uniform dress clothing for their student.
Beginning in the fall of 2025, Lily B. merchandise will be available only through pre-order made through online purchase. There will not be any extras available for purchase at Meet the Teachers night. More information on pre-orders will be shared later this summer.
Pre-k and kindergarten students will receive a free red Lily B. Clayton t-shirt when school starts so that they will have one to wear on Fridays prior to receiving their Walkathon shirt. All students receive a free red Lily B. shirt for Walkathon each year.
Please label everything! Water bottles, lunchboxes, jackets, backpacks, hats, and sweatshirts tend to go missing during the school day. A name label (or just a Sharpie!) goes a long way in helping lost items make their way back home.
If your child does lose something, check the Lost and Found, located in the cafeteria. The PTA Helping Hands team also occasionally puts lost items on display (e.g., during Field Day) for families to look through. Items that remain unclaimed for extended periods will be donated.
Students are encouraged to bring a labeled water bottle each day. Some teachers also allow a small, healthy snack during the day or may have a sign-up for bringing snacks for the whole class. Check with your child’s teacher to confirm any classroom-specific guidelines or allergy-related restrictions.
Meal prices and information about free and reduced lunch is available through the FWISD website here. For 2024-2025, breakfast and lunch were available for free to all students, but students were permitted to pay for snacks and extra items. This district page includes instructions for creating and managing a MySchoolBucks account so that your child can make purchases. We are awaiting information on breakfast and lunch pricing for the 2025-2026 school year and will update this page once we have it.
The lunch menu is available here. Note that this site lists our school as "Clayton Elementary" if you are looking for it in an alphabetical list.
Yes, except for certain testing days and during the first few weeks of school (when students are settling into their new school lunch routines), visitors are permitted during lunchtime. Visitors must sit at tables reserved for "Lunch Visitors" and may only have lunch with their own child. Other students are to remain at their class's assigned table.
All visitors must check in upon arrival and check out when leaving (in the front office with Mrs. Conner or Ms. Garcia). After a lunch visit, visitors are asked to exit the building and not permitted to accompany classes out to recess.
More information is available here (an updated lunch schedule for the 2025-2026 school year will be posted once it becomes available) .
The school cannot accommodate accepting food delivery services (e.g., DoorDash and Uber Eats) for students. Families are welcome to drop off a student lunch at the front office, and office staff will ensure that it gets to the student in time for lunch. Find out more about lunch policies here.
You can use your address to search for bus stops and route information here.
On-site care is available from Clayton Youth Enrichment. In addition, the Boys and Girls Club operates a bus that runs from Lily B. after school, and certain Fort Worth Community Centers may have after-school options that include transportation.
The PTA also hosts various After School Activities each semester. More information on fall options will be posted here soon.
Grade level parent meetings will be held for Kindergarten through 5th Grade during the evenings of August 19-21 as shown in the Calendar. At these meetings, teachers from each grade level will share curriculum expectations and goals for the year. The target audience for these meetings is parents and caregivers (and children should not attend unless you have cleared it with their teacher).
Attendance information, grades, progress reports, and report cards are available through the FWISD Parent Portal.
All students are issued iPads, which are primarily used at school for specific lessons, assessments, and enrichment activities aligned with curriculum goals. In some cases, iPads may be sent home. You can learn more about FWISD's technology resources here and Lily B.'s academic programs here.
Please note that STAAR tests (the standardized state assessment given each spring beginning in 3rd grade) are fully online and include open-ended and extended response questions. While students gain some typing experience through classroom assignments, formal keyboarding instruction is not part of the elementary curriculum. As a result, typing proficiency can affect STAAR scores even though it's not reflective of actual content knowledge. To help your child feel confident and reduce testing frustration, we recommend practicing typing skills at home using free programs like TypingClub.
Field trip dates are planned by FWISD's central administration office. Your child's teacher typically will notify you about upcoming field trips a week or two in advance. You will be required to sign a permission slip for your child to attend any field trip.
The district provides special programs for gifted and talented students, bilingual students, migrant students, students with limited English proficiency, dyslexic students, and students with disabilities. The coordinator of each program can answer questions about eligibility requirements, as well as programs and services offered in the district or by other organizations. A parent with questions about these programs should contact Principal Reed.
The school counselor, Melissa Ball, is available to assist students with a wide range of personal concerns, including social, family, or emotional issues. The counselor may also make available information about community resources to address these concerns.
To get started, first complete a background check online. This is required every year of all people volunteering for the school.
You can find more detailed information about volunteer opportunities, including Room Parent and library volunteer opportunities, here.
Room Parents serve as a liaison for communication to class families from the teacher, school administration, and PTA. They also assist with classroom tasks, coordinate volunteers and field trip chaperones, coordinate class parties, and organize Teacher Appreciation gifts and surprises. Room Parent responsibilities are described more here and include communication, managing a $300/class budget for class parties provided by the PTA, and coordinating teacher appreciation gifts and activities.
Once the PTA year begins August 1, you can pay your annual membership dues. This page includes membership payment links and updated membership tiers.
During PTA general meetings, the PTA President, Treasurer, and other PTA leaders give a brief update on PTA financials, events, and other news. General members also have the opportunity to vote on the PTA budget and elect PTA officers. Any member of the PTA is allowed to vote at general meetings.
During PTA Executive Board meetings, the Executive Board of the PTA has more detailed discussions of PTA activities and financial considerations and hears from school leaders and PTA members regarding other news. Any member of the PTA is welcome to attend Executive Board meetings, but only the Executive Board votes on items heard at these meetings.

Once our school administrators return to the office July 21, they can be reached by phone at 817-814-5400 to answer questions.
School administrators also share information in the following ways:
Through the district's Blackboard notification system, which may send messages via phone, text, and/or email
Teachers utilize different communication methods with parents and will provide more information about how to connect with them once school starts.
All students are expected to follow the FWISD Code of Student Conduct. The Code of Student Conduct includes standards for student responsibilities, campus administrator and teacher responsibilities, and consequences. The Code of Student Conduct and other campus rules of behavior apply whenever the interest of the district is involved, on or off school grounds, in conjunction with or independent of classes and school-sponsored activities. For example, the district has disciplinary authority over a student while a student is going to and from school on district transportation and at any time with respect to certain offenses committed within 300 feet of school property.
This page includes links to the FWISD Student Handbook and the FWISD Elementary Guide to Grade Reporting. More information on district programs and policies is available on various subpages of www.fwisd.org.
