Experience: It is hard for me to believe, but I have been teaching for 35 years. Time flies when you’re having fun! I began in the Fort Worth Catholic Diocese. I spent 3 years as a 5th grade teacher at Our Lady of Victory Elementary, and 8 years as a 6th, 7th, & 8th grade Language Arts teacher at All Saints Catholic School. I came to Lily B. Clayton in 1999 where I spent 7 years as a fifth grade teacher, and for the last 18 years I have been the Music teacher for this wonderful school.
Education: I have a double undergraduate degree from the University of Mobile: Music Education and Piano Performance. I also have a Master's of Education degree from Texas Wesleyan University. I am certified both in Music (K-12) and Elementary Education (1-5).
Personal: I spend my "off time" at the Texas Girls' Choir as I am the Executive Director. I have traveled to over 45 countries of the world and feel very privileged to have performed on every continent except Antartica (maybe someday!). We also were blessed to perform in Washington DC at the White House 6 times! This past summer we spent a week visiting and performing in Costa Rica.
I love to read (mostly fiction), and any place with bodies of water -- natural or man made -- is my favorite location. I believe "to whom much is given, much is required". I am an extremely proud adopted kid, so obviously, I know I have been given more than I can ever repay in my life. Hopefully, I can give back just a little everyday at the very special place called Lily B. Clayton.
