We've had a lot going on in our world lately! Between the recent winter storms, power and water outages, and the pandemic, it's normal for your child to be feeling overwhelmed or stressed. Here are some simple ways to help them calm down or de-stress:

  • Go outside and run or kick a ball around.

  • Listen to music or sing a song. Close your eyes and think of a calm place.

  • Draw a picture.

  • Read a book.

  • Write a letter or story.

  • Talk to someone.

  • Ask for a hug.

The FWISD Family Resources Centers can connect you with counseling or mental health resources for your child. If you're interested, contact me for more information.

Great news! School Tours are back! It is with much excitement that we begin planning 2021-2022 enrollment activities for our youngest incoming students! We will conduct school tours every Wednesday & Thursday from 3:30 PM - 4:00 PM. For safety reasons we are limiting tours to 2 families per day and only allowing 2 adults per prospective student.

Per FWISD policy temperature checks & masks are MANDATORY for ALL participants including students.

Please use this link to sign up for a tour.

Also, please check out the Prospective Lily Bees Facebook Group for Q and A and registration info in the upcoming weeks.

Students in K-5th will be utilizing the cafeteria for lunch. Only one grade level at a time in the cafeteria to ensure social distancing during lunch. Only half of the cafeteria will be utilized at one time to make sure tables are properly sanitized before another grade level sits down to eat. Also, the cafeteria will not be selling extra items such as chips and ice cream. There will be no visitors during lunch until further notice.

March 15, 2021 - March 19, 2021

Curbside Meals To Go service for students will continue at eight FWISD campuses throughout the break. Regular Meals To Go operations at the District’s designated locations will resume March 22. Families may pick up a combination of breakfast and lunch meals from 8 to 10 a.m. Monday, Wednesday and Friday from the following schools during spring break:

  • Carter-Riverside High School

  • Western Hills High School

  • P. Elder Middle School

  • William James Middle School

  • Morningside Middle School

  • Daggett Elementary School

  • C. Moss Elementary School

  • Rosemont Middle School

Meals remain free for all students because of a U.S. Department of Agriculture (USDA) announcement earlier this year that free meals are available to ALL students, regardless of economic status for the rest of the school year.
