Volunteering

Volunteering at Lily B is a great way to get to know other parents, students, teachers AND help our school be the best it can be.  To get started:
First, click here to tell us how you would like to help.  There will always be sign up sheets on this website, but it is great if we have a list of parents who are willing to help when help is needed.  Then, PLEASE complete a background check and turn it into the office.  This is required of all people volunteering for the school.  Below there is also a place for you to enter the hours you volunteer. 
 
Please sign in as a volunteer on the computer in the office before starting your volunteer activity and sign out as you are leaving.
Playground and Lunchroom (PAL) Duty

Sign up here to help our Kindergarteners in the lunchroom and at the beginning of their recess time.  This is a wonderful way to get to know your child's classmates AND help the school.

You will be assisting the students by opening containers, getting things such as spoons, napkins and straws (located where the children can buy their lunch), and helping them get their things together when it is time to go.

Help in our Library!

Sign up here to help Mrs. Parchman in our Library.  The days and times each class visits are shown, so you can sign up when your child may be visiting the Library.  Possible duties will be reshelving books, helping the students choose books, and checking books in or out.
 
Please include your name, contact number, and e-mail address when signing up as library times occassionally change.
Secret Pals

The “Secret Pals” program provides a great opportunity for us to express our gratitude to the teachers and staff members who help make Lily B. Clayton such a wonderful school. Volunteers are matched with a “Secret Pal” on staff to whom they deliver a small token of appreciation (valued at $10 or less) on the last Friday of each month. The program runs from October through May.

We hope you’ll help us keep this great program going strong. To sign up, contact Rose Bradshaw (rose.bradshaw@earthlink.net; 682-224-0256) by October 17th. Rose will match you with your “pal” and send you a profile of his/her interests to help guide your purchases throughout the year.
Italian Lunch for Lily B. Teachers & Staff
Sponsored by the 1st Grade Parents
Friday, February 17th  

Once a month, volunteers provide lunch for Lily B. Clayton staff members to show how much we appreciate all their hard work. On Friday, February 17th, the first grade will sponsor an Italian-themed lunch. Parents are invited to sign up for a dish or item and bring it to the Teacher’s Lounge by 10:00AM on the 17th. To volunteer, please do one of the following:

Enter your hours in the appropriate month. You can submit this form as many times as you wish - once a year, once a month, once a week, or daily!  We will add them up for you!

Volunteer hours include: PTA meetings, work at the school, PTA related work from home, fundraising, special school programs, playground duty, copying, errands for PTA.
