Welcome to the Lily B. Clayton elementary school PTA web site.  Lily B. Clayton is a Pre-K through 5th grade public Elementary School located in Fort Worth, Texas.
We are a Dual Language Enrichment campus.

Lily B. Clayton Uniform Policy

What is the uniform policy?
In order to establish a more serious learning climate among the students in our school, uniforms were instituted at Lily B. Clayton in the 1994-1995 school year as the standard dress code. The district also adopted a standardized dress code starting in 2006. Standardized dress will be worn daily except for designated days in the monthly Buzz Sheet or through principal communication. Standardized Dress selections are available from department or discount stores of choice.

Standardized Dress must conform to the following components:

Bottoms: Navy, khaki, blue denim or black pants, shorts, skirts, skorts, capris, or jumpers are acceptable; student may wear denim blue jeans that are free of embellishments on Fridays only. All bottoms must be hemmed or cuffed. Skirts, skorts, and shorts shall be no shorter than three inches above the knee. All socks or leggings worn must be solid white, navy blue or red in color. Pants must be worn at the appropriate size and are not allowed to bag. Jeans or pants should be free of embellishments and the school encourages students to wear jeans with a solid color belt if there are belt loops. Belts can be brown or black in color. Students are encouraged to wear jeans on Fridays only.

Tops: Navy, white, red and light blue are acceptable. The following styles are acceptable: collared shirts or blouses, mock turtlenecks or turtlenecks. All tops shall have sleeves. The manufacturer logo must be less than a one and one half inch square with the exception of school logos. T-shirts shall not be worn as outer clothing. T-shirts worn as under garments shall be solid white. All shirts and tops must be tucked in and be of solid color. No advertisements or words are allowed on shirts.

Outerwear: Students may wear coats or sweaters to school, but must remove them once entering the school. Navy, red or white cardigans or sweaters for boys and girls may be worn during class if it does not disrupt instruction. However, students may not wear pullover sweatshirts or hoodies during class.

Shoes: Shoes must have matching laces or must be white in color. Appropriate shoes must be worn during physical education activities. Students are not allowed to wear shoes with heals or open toe/open heal when participating in physical activities.

Accessories: Tights, socks and hosiery shall be of solid color (white, navy or red).

Optional: Students may wear the following clothing items on Spirit Day Fridays only:

Lily B. Clayton Sweatshirts and Red Lily B. Clayton T-shirts.

Is it okay to wear a red shirt?
Yes, Lily B. Clayton adopted a uniform policy in 1994 and the policy is still in place. It differs slightly from the FWISD uniform policy that was implemented in 2006. The main differences are that red and light blue shirts are allowed and jeans are only allowed on Fridays.

When can my child wear their red Lily B. Clayton t-shirt?
Red Lily B. Clayton t-shirts are to be worn on Fridays and on field trips. Each child will receive a free red Lily B. Clayton t-shirt as part of Walkathon. If you need an additional shirt, please order one from the school store.

Where can I buy Lily B. plaid for my daughter?
In addition to the ISD uniform policy, girls are allowed to wear plaid jumpers. The Lily B. Plaid is Red Plaid #94 and is available at http://www.academyuniforms.com/.
