Incoming Kindergarten Meet and Greet Thursday, February 9th, 2012 1:30 - 3:00 PM The Lily B. Clayton Auditorium Prospective Kindergarten students and their parents are invited to Lily B. Clayton to meet Our Principal, our Assistant Principal, all four Kindergarten Teachers, and take a tour of the school. Immediately following the Kindergarten Meet & Greet on Feb. 9, please join us for our first STAY & PLAY of 2012! Bring a snack and join us on the playground to let the kids play while you mingle with other parents as well as prospective Lily B families! All grades are encouraged to stay to enjoy after school time with your classmates. We’ve already placed an order for a sunny spring day!

It's time for the BoxTop Superbowl!
We're running out of time to submit BoxTops for this school year...so the challenge is on! During the month of February, the 2 classrooms collecting the most BoxTops will win a popsicle party. To help encourage collection, funsheets will be posted near the BoxTop Collection Box. Remember to put your teacher's name on your collection sheets and baggies so your class will get credit. And take a look at expiration dates, as expired BoxTops may not be submitted. Game on! |

PTA Board Nominations Coffee
The PTA will host a PTA Board Coffee & Cookie Open House on Friday, February 17th at 1:45 in the Library. This is an opportunity to talk to some of your current PTA board members and ask questions about the PTA board positions. Check your child's folder for nomination forms and position descriptions for the 2012-13 school year and turn in by Tuesday, February 21. Canned Food Drive: Jan 30-Feb 10
The Cans of Love Food Drive begins on Monday, January 30th and ends on Friday, February 10th. There will be boxes in front of the classrooms to collect donations. The class bringing the most cans to support the Tarrant Area Food Bank will win a free dress pass! |

Valentinegrams
An order form will be sent home for you to order a Valentinegram for your child or your child can send one to a friend or teacher. Orders must be turned in with payment of cash or check (made out to Lily B. Clayton PTA) in the envelope provided to your teacher or to the box in the office marked “Valentinegram orders” by Wednesday, February 8th. Valentinegrams will be delivered on Tuesday, February 14th. The kids love giving and receiving these messages and balloons so much and your dollars will help benefit our PTA.
*New this Year* Since the proceeds from the Valentinegrams are used to support the 5th grade trip in May, the 5th graders (not parents!) will be filling the orders. Please, please turn in your orders on time so that they will have plenty of time to work on this. |
